Competitors Eye DoubleClick's Success (RedHerring, April 29th)
While DoubleClick presently owns the lion's share of the market for online advertising, it is expected that as more money flows online from the coffers of traditional advertisers and publicity-hungry dotcoms, competitors such as Flycast, 24/7 Media and Microsoft's LinkExchange will make their presence known. Before marketers embrace the net with open arms, though, the ad networks are going to have to provide greater accountability in terms of demographic profiling and tracking.
